As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we have one more amazing woman in leadership to spotlight in the final week of our 2025 “Ladies Who Lead” blog series!

We take pride in recognizing the remarkable women who lead, inspire, and shape the future at Longbridge Financial. For the fourth year in a row, our “Ladies Who Lead” blog series highlights the voices and experiences of the talented women driving our company forward. Through their stories, we aim to celebrate their achievements, share their insights, and inspire others to pursue their own paths to leadership.

Our next featured leader is Kristin Tschida, Assistant Controller at Longbridge Financial. With a career built on perseverance and continuous learning, Kristin shares her thoughts on seizing opportunities, seeking mentorship from diverse perspectives, and the importance of giving yourself grace along the way. Let’s dive into her Q&A to learn more about her journey and the lessons she’s picked up along the way!

Q: How could you contribute your wisdom, expertise, or ideas to empower other women?
A: I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors—both men and women—who have guided me throughout my career. I try to pay it forward by recognizing and celebrating others’ successes and by being present. That means truly listening, understanding the needs of others, and offering support in meaningful ways. While I firmly believe that we each drive our own success, I do my best to encourage others—whether it’s by being a sounding board, providing opportunities, or equipping them with the tools and resources to grow.

Q: Any tips for women who are looking for a mentor?
A: My biggest piece of advice is to not limit yourself to just one mentor—and be proactive! Surround yourself with people who inspire you in different ways. One mentor might help you develop or hone a specific skill, another could offer career guidance, and someone else might provide valuable insights on work-life balance. Whatever you’re seeking, keep an open mind. When you come across someone who could add value to your career or personal growth, don’t hesitate to reach out. Strike up a conversation—you never know where it might lead!

Q: What do you think helped you get this far in your career?
A: I attribute my career trajectory to embracing new opportunities. Throughout my journey, I’ve asked questions, absorbed as much knowledge as possible, and sought out ways to improve. If I noticed a process that could be better, I put in the extra effort to refine it. When new projects or responsibilities came my way, I approached them with enthusiasm and a positive mindset. That willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative has been pivotal to my professional growth.

Q: Do you believe you’ve achieved everything you wanted to?
A: Haha! How boring would that be? I thrive on the sense of accomplishment that comes from learning something new or reaching a goal—big or small. That feeling fuels me to keep seeking out the next challenge.

Q: What would you say to your 20-year-old self?
A: My advice to her would be, no one expects you to be perfect. You will make mistakes—give yourself grace and learn from them. Focus on your strengths and let them shine!

Thank you, Kristin, for sharing your experience with us and for being a great role model for women everywhere, especially those in or working toward leadership roles!

About Women’s History Month

The celebration of Women’s History Month has its roots in 1981 when Congress authorized President Jimmy Carter to proclaim “Women’s History Week.” This was a significant step in recognizing the vital role women have played in shaping American history. By 1987, following persistent efforts by the National Women’s History Alliance (NWHA), the observance was extended to the entire month of March. Since then, every March, the contributions and achievements of women across various fields are honored and celebrated. This month-long recognition is crucial as it highlights the progress made towards gender equality and inspires future generations to continue advocating for women’s rights and representation.
